The Seven Most Terrifying End-Time Prophecies of Revelation
The borrower should know this in these times of crisis.
1. Cosmic Signs and Global Upheaval
The Sun, Moon, Stars, and Earth Will Be Shaken
(Revelation 6:12)
The sun will go dark, the moon will turn red like blood, the stars will fall, and the mountains will tremble.
- When he opened the sixth seal, I saw a great earthquake, and the sun became dark as a blanket of hair, and the moon became like blood.
2. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse
Pestilence, War, Famine, and Death
(Revelation 6:1–8)
- Four horsemen will descend: pestilence, war, famine, and destruction of everything on earth and a quarter of the population.
- And I looked, and I saw that I opened one of the seven seals, and I heard as it were the voice of thunder, one of the four living creatures. And I looked, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow: and there was given to him a crown, and he went out conquering, that he might conquer more.
- When the second seal was opened, another horse came out, which was red; power was given to him in heaven to take peace from the earth, so that people would kill one another, and he was given a great sword.
- When he opened the third seal. And I looked, and behold a black horse, and I heard a voice among the four living creatures saying, A pound of wheat for a penny, and three pounds of barley for a penny, and oil, and wine, and you shall not harm them.
- When the fourth seal was opened. And I looked, and behold a pale horse, and his name who sat on him was Death: and Hades followed with him: and power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with the sword, and with the wild beasts of the earth.
3. The Trumpet Judgments
Destruction of Sea, Land, and Life
(Revelation 8:8–9)
- When the trumpet sounds: One-third of the sea will turn to blood, trees and grass will burn, and rivers will dry up.
- The second angel blew his trumpet, and a great mountain, burning as if on fire, was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea turned to blood.
- And a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.
4. The Persecution of True Believers
Martyrdom for Faith in Jesus
(Revelation 20:4)
Persecution of Christians: Those who truly follow Jesus will be killed for their steadfastness in the truth.
- Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and it was given to them to judge; and I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their testimony about Jesus and for the word of God. And those who had not worshipped the beast or his image, nor had received his curse on their foreheads or hands, they remained alive and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
5. The Seduction by the Beast
Turning Away From God
(Revelation 14:9–11)
The Seduction of Animals: Many people will be seduced by animals, turn away from God, follow Satan, and suffer eternal punishment.
- And after these came another angel, saying with a loud voice, Cursed be he who worships the beast and his image, and on his forehead, or on his hands, or on his feet.
- Then he will drink the pure wine of God's wrath, which is poured into the cup of His anger, and will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.
- And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever, and those who worship the beast and his image, and those who curse in his name, have no rest day or night.
6. The Rise of Satan and the Bottomless Pit
Five Months of Torment
(Revelation 9:1–6)
The Appearance of Satan: Satan will rise from Hades and torment people for five months, causing them to suffer so much that they will yearn for death, yet they will not be able to die.
- And when the fifth angel sounded, I saw a star fall from heaven to earth, and the key of the bottomless pit was given to him.
- And he opened the bottomless pit, and smoke rose from the pit like the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke of the pit.
- And out of the smoke came locusts upon the earth, and they were given power like the scorpions of the earth.
- And they were told, "Do not harm the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree, except those men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.
- And they were given power not to kill, but to torment the people for five months: and their torment was like that of a man when he is stung by a scorpion.
- In those days, men will seek death, but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will flee from them.
7. The Final Judgment
The Great White Throne
(Revelation 20:11–15)
The Final Judgment: The final judgment will take place before the great white throne. Anyone not written in the book of life will be cast into the lake of fire.
- Then I saw a great white throne and him who sat on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them.
- Then I saw the dead, small and great, standing before the throne. The books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and just as it was written in the books, the dead were judged according to their works.
- And the sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them; and they were judged every one according to what he had done.
- And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire; this lake of fire is the second death.
- And anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.
